THE STONEFLY

Ninety percent, right?

Trout feed below the surface ninety percent of the time. It sounds like somebody just made that number up, but it also seems about right. Well-tied nymphs are fish catching machines. And stoneflies are the perfect trout meal. With a two-year life cycle, both juveniles and adults are always available for trout snacking. And big trout are a little more willing to move for a bigger lunch (sometimes).

So take your flies down to the fish. Feed ’em stones. Get down. Go under.

The Troutbitten Stonefly is a Wilds Media design.
